German Impressum generator

For a business established in Germany: answer a few questions and get an Impressum in German following the list of § 5 DDG, as plain text and HTML. Nothing is sent to a server: everything is generated in your browser.

Indicative template, not legal advice. It is generated from the information you entered. Have your Impressum reviewed by a lawyer (Rechtsanwalt) before publishing it, especially for a regulated profession or an activity that requires a licence.

Geographic address of the establishment: a PO box is not enough.

In addition to the email address, which is expressly required, a second fast contact channel (phone or form) is recommended.

Only if you have one. Leave empty otherwise: no line will be written.

§ 18 Abs. 2 MStV: a responsible person must then be named with name and address. A company blog is not necessarily covered: it is assessed case by case.

Consumer dispute resolution (§ 36 VSBG)

Required if you sell to consumers and employed more than 10 people on 31 December of the previous year. If you have committed to take part, the dispute resolution body must be named whatever your size.

The generated text is in German: it is a German Impressum, for a website whose operator is established in Germany and subject to German law (§ 5 DDG). A business established in another country follows that country's rules, even on a website in German.
  • No phone or contact form: a second fast contact channel is recommended in addition to the email address.
